Legs feel likeyou ran it twice?Start on them today.
A runner's plan for the days around a long run or a race: what to drink, when to eat, how to move, when to sleep — and where a Normatec session or an IV hydration visit at Dripology Santa Monica can fit. The planner runs in your browser; nothing you enter in it is saved or sent.
Presented by Dripology. This site is Dripology's own, so the booking button is ours and disclosed up front: it opens Dripology's online scheduler in a new tab (or call the studio). IV hydration is a wellness service performed under the supervision of a licensed physician. Normatec and IV hydration are options some runners add, not a treatment for any injury or condition. Not medical advice.
If something is actually wrong — persistent pain, swelling, calf pain or one-sided leg swelling, chest pain, dizziness — see a doctor. None of this replaces that visit.
Mile 01 · Where it hurts
Pick the thing that's bugging you. Then do the first small thing.
None of these need a diagnosis to start on. Each one has a first move you can make today, and a place where some runners add Dripology.
Heavy, dead legs after the long run
The run is done but your legs didn't get the memo. First move: a ten-minute flat walk, a real meal within the hour, water with a pinch of salt, feet up for twenty minutes.
Many runners add a Normatec session that afternoon or the next day, because they like how their legs feel afterwards.
Dreading the stairs
Sunday afternoon, the staircase has opinions. First move: keep moving in small doses rather than sitting all day; go down stairs sideways if it helps; an easy spin or walk tomorrow, not a rest-on-the-couch day.
Some runners book Normatec for the day after their long run and make it their sit-still time.
Scared of losing training days
You'd rather run tired than skip. First move: count easy days as training, protect sleep like a workout, and put the long run on a day you can actually recover from.
A Normatec session fits an easy day; it is one option, not a substitute for the easy day itself.
Race-week hydration nerves
Am I drinking enough? Too much? First move: drink to thirst through the week, salt your food, and practise your race-day drink plan on your last runs. Race day is what you drink and eat on the course, nothing else.
Some runners add an IV hydration visit earlier in race week. Never the day before, never race morning; a provider can tell you if it fits you, and tested athletes should check their anti-doping rules first.
Bad recovery between weekly long runs
Every Saturday starts on last Saturday's legs. First move: eat soon after the run, make the next day genuinely easy, and move the hard midweek session so it isn't crashing into the long run.
Many runners add a Normatec session on the easy day after the long run and keep it as a weekly ritual.
Travelling to a race
Flights, hotels, a strange bed. First move: water on the plane, a walk on arrival, your own breakfast foods in the bag, bib pickup early, feet up the night before.
Visiting runners sometimes add a Normatec session the day after the race before the flight home. Dripology New York sits at 255 Bowery; Santa Monica at 1411 7th St.
Post-race: now what?
Medal on, legs gone, plan empty. First move: walk, eat, sleep, celebrate. A week or two of easy movement before anything structured, then pick the next thing while it's still fun.
Some runners add a Normatec session or an IV hydration visit in the days after a race as part of their wind-down.
Tell it four things. Get a timeline you can put in your calendar.
The planner runs entirely in your browser: nothing you enter in it is sent, saved or tracked. The plan is practical habits, with the places a Normatec session or a hydration visit can fit marked as options, not instructions.
Practical habits only; not medical advice and not a training plan. The Dripology items are options some runners use (IV hydration is performed under the supervision of a licensed physician); a provider can tell you if they fit you. Never an IV during or right before a race; competitive and tested athletes: check your anti-doping rules first. The calendar file is generated here in your browser and contains only this plan.
Mile 03 · Two options runners add
Normatec and IV hydration. Both locations.
Normatec compression
You sit back with inflatable leg attachments that squeeze and release in a rhythm (the maker calls it dynamic air compression). Many runners add a session after a long run, or in the days after a race, because they like how their legs feel when they stand up.
That is the whole claim: some people like it. It is not a treatment for an injury or any condition. A provider at Dripology can tell you whether it fits you.
Dripology describes its Hydrate IV as "premium electrolytes & fluids delivered intravenously": a wellness service performed under the supervision of a licensed physician, in Santa Monica and New York. Some runners add a visit in the week before a race or the days after one.
It is not a substitute for drinking and eating during a run or a race, and it is never suggested on race morning or mid-race. Not a treatment for any condition. A provider can tell you if it fits you.
Competitive or drug-tested athlete? The WADA Prohibited List (M2.2) restricts IV infusions of more than 100 mL per 12-hour period, in and out of competition. Check your anti-doping rules before any IV.

13days
Race week in New York: bib pickup, a shakeout, early nights, and your own breakfast foods in the bag. Dripology New York is at 255 Bowery, its own team and its own hours (Tue–Sat 12pm–6pm). Some runners add a Normatec session early in race week or the day after; never an IV on race morning.
Westside long-run season runs right up to it. Dripology Santa Monica is at 1411 7th St, Suite 120 (Mon–Sat 10am–5pm). Many runners add a Normatec session after the last big long run, then again after the race.
Race dates checked 12 October 2026 against the organizers' and partners' listings; confirm on the race's own site. Neither race is affiliated with this site or with Dripology.

Mile 06 · Questions runners ask
Straight answers. No promises.
What is Normatec?
Normatec is a dynamic air compression system: you sit or lie back with inflatable leg attachments that squeeze and release in a rhythm. Many runners add a session after a long run or in the days after a race because they like how their legs feel afterwards. Nothing here is a claim that it does anything for an injury or condition; a provider at Dripology can tell you whether it fits you.
What does an IV hydration visit at Dripology involve?
Dripology describes its Hydrate IV as premium electrolytes and fluids delivered intravenously. It is a wellness service performed under the supervision of a licensed physician, offered in Santa Monica and New York. It is not a treatment for any condition and it is not a substitute for drinking and eating during a run or a race.
Competitive or drug-tested athlete? The WADA Prohibited List (M2.2) restricts IV infusions of more than 100 mL per 12-hour period, in and out of competition. Check your anti-doping rules before any IV.
No. This site never suggests an IV on race morning or during a race. Race-day hydration is what you drink and eat on the course, practised in training. If you are a competitive or drug-tested athlete, anti-doping rules limit intravenous infusions: the WADA Prohibited List bans IV infusions and/or injections of more than a total of 100 mL per 12-hour period outside hospital treatment, surgery or clinical diagnostic investigations, in and out of competition. Check your governing body before any IV.
Do both Dripology locations offer Normatec and IV hydration?
Yes. Dripology Santa Monica (1411 7th St, Suite 120) and Dripology New York (255 Bowery, its own team and its own hours) both offer Normatec compression and IV hydration. Book through Dripology's scheduler or call the studio. Nothing is booked on this site, and the site stores nothing.
Persistent pain, swelling, calf pain or swelling in one leg, chest pain, dizziness, fainting, or anything that worries you: see a doctor, and call emergency services if it is urgent. This site is not medical advice and no wellness service replaces that visit.
